The Harvest Home is a guest house with licensed restaurant which was originally an early 19th century inn. It is situated on the very edge of Dartmoor surrounded by rolling Devon hills with spectacular views of the western edge of Dartmoor. We are just 2 miles from the busy Stannary town of Tavistock famous for its award winning Pannier Market and for being the birth place of Sir Francis Drake. We are perfectly situated to explore both Devon and Cornwall.
Our small restaurant specialises in traditional home made food and we are well known for favourites such as steak and kidney pudding and steak & ale pie as well as other chicken, beef and lamb dishes. All the ingredients for our homemade dishes are locally sourced.
We have a licensed bar and wherever possible we try to use local beers (bottled) from Devon or Cornwall and we also have a good selection of wines to go with your food.
We have a front terrace where you can enjoy the view overlooking Brentor and the surrounding countryside. Parking is not an issue as we have a very large car park.
We have 3 large and comfortable en-suite rooms - two with their own patio/terrace. Two rooms have king size beds and the third, a junior suite, has twin beds, satellite TV, wi-fi and tea/coffee making facilities.
Devon & Cornwall (just 2 miles) are wonderful places to explore. Ideally situated for both the north and south coasts and The Lost Gardens Of Heligan and Eden Project. There is also a wealth of National Trust properties to explore within easy reach, the closest of which is Cotehele and Buckland Abbey (Sir Francis Drakes' house). There are also plenty of physical activities locally.
The opening hours of the bar and restaurant are 6 to 10pm Tuesday to Sunday. Food is served until 9pm. The bar and restaurant is closed on Monday. We do not accept children due to the intimate nature of the restaurant.
